Volvamos al baile, 23 October

Bratislava v pohybe, Bratislava in Motion, the city's festival of contemporary dance, runs until 26 October.1

It opened at Divadlo Aréna with Portrait by French choreographer Rebecca Journo and her company La Pieuvre. The piece builds a series of “living portraits” inspired by the photographers Cindy Sherman and Francesca Woodman.1

At A4, Salim Mzé Hamadi Moissi danced L'Expat, a solo about leaving home, returning and living between cultures.1

Dancing what was forgotten

One of the pieces in the last week is Volvamos al baile by Spanish choreographer Inka Romaní, on 23 October at A4. It is built from the dances of her grandmother and her grandmother's friends, which have slowly disappeared from yards, streets and community life.1
