Editorial standards
The rules every story follows before it leaves the vat.

Named sources
Each story rests on sources you can check: organisers, institutions, researchers and established Slovak media. They are listed under “Woven from” at the end of every story.
Checked twice
A reporter writes the story and a second person edits it. Names, dates, places and figures are compared with the source before publication.
What we leave out
Party politics, elections, courts, crime and armed conflict.
Slovak names
We keep Slovak spelling and diacritics for people and places, and explain terms when they first appear.
Illustrations
Our pictures are AI-generated illustrations printed in indigo duotone and labelled as such. They never replace a photograph of the event.
Advertising
Advertisers have no influence over what we write and never see stories in advance.
